Contains four sections: poems of place and displacement set in such far-flung locales as Budapest, Dublin, Vancouver, and the skies above Australia along with Point Pleasant and Berkeley; poems of love and loss, engagement, alienation, and endurance; poems focused on music and musicians, from blues to bluegrass to punk to jazz; and ""found"" poems from sources as varied as job postings, a calendar, a bus shelter, and a fortune cookie.

What Vanishes

A book-length poetic sequence that traces the life of an imaginary woman from birth to death and beyond, employing a wide range of forms from free verse to heroic couplets.

She Alone (Salmon Poetry)

In an array of approaches as varied as its subject matter, All the Money in the World explores love, loss, music, mystery, tensions, terrors, ecstasies, and endings.   By turns lyrical, abstract, anguished, celebratory, humorous and reflective, these poems move between a nuanced appreciation of how things are and an intense longing for how they might be.

Here and Gone

Loyola Marymount University

A prize-winning poet/playwright, John Menaghan has published four books with Salmon Poetry (Ireland): All the Money in the World (1999), She Alone (2006), What Vanishes (2009), and Here and Gone (2014). Kirkus Reviews called All the Money in the World "an auspicious beginning." David Mason, writing in The Hudson Review, called She Alone "one of the best books of 2006." And Books Ireland described What Vanishes as an “evocative” and “experimental” collection.
